1. Introduction
Creator Economy Ventures LLC. (dba. "byob") ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use our service (the "Service"), a platform that connects Creators with brand partnership opportunities, facilitates negotiations and payments, and optionally helps Creators manage brand deals surfaced through their own email inbox. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and with whom we share it.
2. Information We Collect
Account and Authentication Information. byob uses phone-based authentication. When you sign up or sign in, we collect and store your phone number and send one-time passcodes via SMS to verify your identity. We do not use passwords, and we do not require a Google or email account to create or access your byob account.
Identity and Tax Information. To pay you for brand deals and comply with applicable tax reporting laws, we collect identity and tax information, including your legal name, mailing address, date of birth where required, and taxpayer identification number. U.S. persons submit IRS Form W-9; non-U.S. persons submit the appropriate IRS Form W-8. We may request additional documentation where required by law.
Payment Information. To disburse payments owed to you, we collect and process payout details such as bank account information or payment processor account information. Sensitive payment credentials are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on byob servers in unencrypted form.
Profile and Social Media Information. We collect the social media handles, audience data, rates, and profile information that you provide, or that you authorize us to retrieve from platforms you connect.
Email Content (Deal Sharing — Opt-In Only). If you choose to use our Deal Sharing feature by connecting your Google / Gmail account, you grant us access to email content in your inbox for the limited purpose of identifying inbound brand deal opportunities. Information such as sender, subject line, and email body may be accessed for partnership-related emails; personal emails outside of this scope are not used. This feature is opt-in and separate from byob account authentication. You may revoke access at any time via Google Security Settings.
Usage Data. We collect information about how you access and use the Service, including your Internet Protocol address, browser type and version, pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service;
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account;
- Facilitate brand deals and creator-brand partnerships;
- Process payments and comply with applicable tax reporting and withholding obligations (including issuing Form 1099 or equivalent where required);
- Identify and surface relevant brand opportunities, including through the Deal Sharing feature (where you have opted in);
- Respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests;
- Comply with legal obligations; and
- Any other purpose for which you have given consent.
Your email data (whether accessed via Google or any other source) is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or ML models.
4. Sharing of Information
Service Providers. We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Service, including:
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and infrastructure provider;
- Our SMS provider — for delivering phone authentication codes and transactional messages;
- Our payment processor — for disbursing payments and handling payout credentials;
- Tax and compliance services — for preparing and issuing required tax forms.
These providers operate under contractual confidentiality obligations and are permitted to use your information only to deliver the services they provide to byob.
Brands and Deal Counterparties. In the course of facilitating brand deals, we share relevant information (such as your name, social handles, audience data, and agreed rate) with participating brands and deal counterparties as reasonably needed to negotiate and fulfill the partnership.
Deal Sharing Network (Opt-In). If you use the Deal Sharing feature, brand opportunities identified from your connected email may be shared within the byob network in accordance with your settings and the Terms of Service.
Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
Aggregated or Anonymized Data. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you personally.
Google User Data. Our access to and use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
